According to a recent article from US News and World Report some of the fastest growing jobs in 2019 and beyond do not require a four-year college degree. Due to an aging population with better access to healthcare and longer lifespans many of these jobs exist within the field of healthcare. The US Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics projects healthcare to grow much faster than the majority of occupations from 2016 to 2026, giving clear rationale for the need for an increased number of healthcare workers in all areas of the field.

Additionally proffered information in the US News and World Report article is the fact that many of these jobs in the growing field of healthcare do not require a four year college degree - yet boast a stable to strong yearly income. Some of these careers require training/certification while others require an associate’s degree, with starting annual incomes ranging from $25,000 per year to $35,000 per year.

AACF offers free training to those who qualify in the fields of: CNA, dental technician, phlebotomy, and pharmacy technician to support this need for more skilled workers within the field of healthcare. AACF also offers free training to those who qualify in security and CDL, with security guards earning an average of $25,000 per year, entry level and truck drivers earning an average of $42,500 per year to start.

A four year college degree may not be necessary for the career of your dreams. In addition to a stable income, job satisfaction ranks high for those who are employed in the field of healthcare. It has much to offer to those who enjoy helping others to recover and be well. And the field of security and truck driving offer independence and autonomy for those who love their freedom, in addition to a strong income!
